Wale “Nike Boots” Video

Wale’s new video for Nike Boots is finally finished. We made it our business to post Wale’s Nike Boots video, and it’s only fair seeing that we showed Annastaisa’s Nike Shoes video some love. Hopefully the fine folks at Nike cut Wale a nice check or at least gave him a lifetime supply of Nike Boots…

Featuring cameos from Kid Capri, Bun B, 9th Wonder, Young Guru, Raheem DeVaughn, Young Chris and Neef, Grafh, UCB, Tabi Bonney and Beat Your Feet Kings. Check out the video and enjoy!

Yo Wale also did a Nike acg boot with his name on it. Not sure if it was super limited or just a 1 of 1 but you can check it on his myspace profile. Besides that this song is so ill wish he would have shot a video if the remix with Wayne and big ups to wale on everything he is on e of the few artist I still listen to.

Yea video was cool (MoCo What up!) but the song is hella old. Ray…Stack the first to wear Nike Boots/ACGs???? Naw brutha, that’s a DC/MD classic cuzo.

  9. How do u know dat
Stack Bundles wuz da first to wear ACG boots????? I can’t believe that comment lol……wreckless talk lol……

  10. Trust me, Just like NYC put ya up on white on white AF1 lows, or Tan Timbs. NYC again 1st with NIKE ACG boots. Stack Bundles been wearing ACG’s for a whileeee. Youtube any video, dudes wearing af1 lows or ACG’s in every video you see.

Harlem made ACG’s popular all over. But ask Jim Jones whos style he took… Stack Bundles, He’s responsible for the wallet chains, fitted shirts, Ed Hardy, ACG’s. Do some research lol. Fashion in DC/MD haha thats laughable, not dissing ya but i been to DC/MD… no way anyone can see you guys shoes under those baggy jeans.

  11. Once again how can you say Stack Bundles was the first to wear ACG’s…..like I’m from the DC/MD area and I could care less about fitted shirts, ED Hardy, and wallet chains….because there was always somebody rocking that b4 someone else….So you just know NYC put us on AF1 lows, and Tan Timbs…..I’ve been wearing tan timbs since I was in elementary school and my parents wasnt like oh NYC wears Timbs so lets put our son in Timbs lol……man I guess you must be in NYC and DC/MD to know that we look at NYC and say lets do wear what they wear lol….I’m not dissing NYC but c’mon man with these comments….maybe its folks from my area that get into the debates of who wore what first cuz I’ve seen on other sites DC vs NYC about wearing nikeboots first…I don’t even see the point of it but I can’t agree that Stack Bundles was the first to wear ACG boots first PERIOD……Maybe in NYC but he wasn’t the first…I’m sure Nike Employees wear them first…..but foreal as for the ACG’s….I saw them in eastbay a few years back and got on them…and Stack Bundles wasnt even out yet or heard of yet alone did I check to see if NYC was doing it when I’m hundreds of miles away……lol

  12. oh yeah…….ummmm I think you thinking about Bmore witht he baggy jeans man….cuz most of the dudes around here wear the skinny jeans or tight jeans or whatever…….aye I don’t do it or condone it cuz it’s agaisnt “Man Law”……..but our jeans are loose fit for those that still wear those type of jeans and you can see our shoes man……lol…..its all good though homie lol……..

    WALE = ill/sick/dope

  14. “LARGO WAT UP”

  15. I went to the dc/md area about two years ago. I should have stated that, but stack bundles has been out since 2000 rapping with The triangle offense ( Fab, Joe Budden, paul cain… he was also rapping with lupe fiasco before his deal. ) I dont wana drop music knowledge on a sneaker site but it goes hand in hand. So with you saying stacks wasnt out a few years ago lol thats FUNNY. I am in nyc, I’ve traveled to many places. Im not the only one who realizes NY is responsible for a lot of these trends. If DC is responsible for ACG why didnt wale make this song 3years ago? Because Dipset (jim Jones) made acg’s VERY popular within the last two years, so wale being a lack luster rapper tries to capitalize on trends. I dont listen to his music because his style is so predictable. I love every state I go to but everyone will always be second to nyc.

who gives a shit who wore ACG boots first or who made them popular, they’re ugly as hell…and same with ed hardy and his fruity shit. i don’t understand why people don’t just wear what they like and stop biting anything and everything that rappers do. i can’t tell you how many kids i’ve seen wearing those dumb-ass female looking scarfs around their neck just because kanye. i know fads are inevitable but c’mon man, ed hardy??? you know your 10 year old self woulda slapped the shit outta you if he saw you wearing that garbage

  17. Comment by 44Caliber December 2nd, 2008 at 9:11 pm

Just for the record, Goadomes have always been regular wear in the DMV. I have been wearing them for atleast 10 years on the regular. There is a reason the first Nike Boot song came out of MD. BMore dudes do wear those baggy jeans, and most of the DC niggas wear the tight joints, but the style is still similar. Next thing you know you are gonna tell me NY dudes put us on Pro Keds.

  18. And ask me how was my night
I said bitch stay out of my bussines
    When we fuck she say
    Just stay out of kidneys

Should have came with the remix with weezy!

  19. Comment by D-magic December 2nd, 2008 at 10:29 pm

Man Dc/Md been rocking the nike boots first. I remember when they came out. They came out when I was in the 7th grade and know im in the 12th. I just started seeing New York niggas wearing in 07

  20. man stack bundles wasn’t mainstream is what I meant…..but that’s besides the matter……Wale wasn’t even mainstream yet alone out there like that…….foreal he was prolley just doing alot of cyphers and rap battles on the radio…..and I don’t know why he didn’t make a song 3 yrs ago……I didn’t know he had to make the song then……u ask him that champ lol….I mean I’m glad you had this discussion 2 yrs ago….but I mean like it doesn’t even matter who wore them first….but I guess you want to make it known that NYC did it first…All I know is When I was in college from 01-05 I never saw NY folks with nikeboots on….maybe in 05 but all the prevous years b4 that…..they had timbs and air force lows on…..but hey everybody wears nikeboots all up the east coast so who cares…..and just cuz jim jones wears something doesnt mean he started it….

  21. To the young homie Ray, you can ask any Nike representative and they will tell you that the DC area is the area that made the Nike Goadome popular. I worked for a national shoe chain for 6 years, and before the rest of the country hopped on the Goadome, they used to just sit in stores across the country collecting dust. The Goadomes had to be transferred to DC area stores, because they sold out within in days and even HOURS! I remember us getting the shipment of Goadomes in, and just leaving them behind the counter because it saved us the trouble of walking to the stock room every 5 seconds because people were asking for them that much. Of course you’re not going to know what shoe is popular what city, because most people into shoes are just focused on their city. You said it yourself, Dipset made it popular within the last 3 years or so. DC made it popular waaay before then. Of course people may assume NY did it first, because it’s a city that is in the spotlight more. But again, like I said, ask any Nike rep, or anyone that worked in the shoe business like I did where the Goadome was most popular first, and they will tell you the DC area.

  22. Here’s a quote from the CREATOR/DESIGNER of the Goadome:

“DC and Baltimore were the first cities to truly embrace the Goa, so big props to them them for having the courage to bring something new to the market.”

Always become informed, have facts, and know your history before jumping out there. No disrespect.

  23. yeah so B. i Finally saw the video just now… Wale has to be one of the worst rappers. This is one of many songs that proves my point. The song is about boots and dude is spitting about nonsense. It has no flow, no story, no lyrical content.

  24. in my city, i don’t see many people wearing Nike boots unless they’re from up north. all the shoe stores in the mall sell them, but not many people buy them. honestly, i don’t like them. hey, umma make a song about Foamposites. i hope i get a lifetime supply!

  25. I am lovin this, finally DC stand up!!! Props to Nonchalante and Question Mark Asylum

    “Allow me to retort”
Ray you are acting like Stack B (rest his soul) was Hov or Nas, or mainstream enough for people to mimic his style. You would have had more cred saying Jada or Fab was the first to wear Nike boots. Wale’s track whether you like it or not is/was the sountrack for the Nike crop. movement on the site. As for DC/MD/VA not having thier own style or being trendssetters, check shemagh/keffiyah scarfs circa 98…yea the same joints NYC is on 10 years later. We have always defined our own style from NB 996s to 992s, bball shoes/J’s, to Timbs with the tongues flipped down. Next you will tell me that NYC was the first to wear Foams and Flights…Nike boots and Posites are such a DC staple that Nike came with the “Foamdomes”. As to your AF1 comment, I don’t personally wear them, but know ya history. Baltimore was the cradle of the resurgence of the AF1…NYC cats (shout to Philly) came down 95 to cop in Bmore because they could only get them there. You might want to watch a video on DTLR, Cindarella’s, and Rudo’s(Mr.Shoe’s)…Sneaker_Queen of OSD and G can help you with that. Hell Moses Malone wore ones (VA stand up). But I digress, the DC Metro area (Bmore included) have been rocking ACG and Nike Trail kicks like Humaras, Sertigs, Mowabbs, etc the Goadomes were a natural progression. As someone stated above for all we know some hiker in Oregon was the first to rock them but if we take a look at regional sales I am pretty sure we will find out where they were most popular and at what time (shout DJ Heat). I will give you that the Dipset made the “Rockstar” look poplar…everywhere not just DC, but yea for the most part DC cats wear/wore loose jeans (killed me wit the rubberbands tho)and Nike boots were for function not fashion. All in all, I would expect you to rep where you are from and there is no beef/love lost, but you come across as a hater. If anything the thing that bonds us all together (Wale included) is the love for sneakers, big the man up for making a track that represents YOUR culture and keep it moving.
*Laces up Nike boots and heads to lunch…still flyer than the rest of yall still got my Nike boots”

Wale is one of the few rappers I listen to, and his stuff is always on point. I could care less who was rocking Nike boots before everybody else. I do wish that he would do another collab with New Era. I really liked his hat, but it is darn near impossible to find.a

  28. ACGs were started in the DMV thats were they caught on..why would wale get his edition then???/i dont see a stack bundles pair(R.I.P) but cats in the DMV been wearin em for ages even Foamposites and 992s are are a DC staple…Bet Nike was thinkis big bucks outta DC when they made the Foamdomes

  29. Wale better than Stacks that i can not agree with

  30. i cannot give props to wale if he isnt representing the culture properly.. im supposed to cheer bc he wears nikes and supreme hats? No. I respect a man who works hard at his craft and his material reflects it. I gave respect to Nelly for Airforce Ones bc the beat was INSANE and the hook was crazy and the lyrics were good too.. So i prop Nelly for making a sneaker anthem. Is that a fair comparison MellowYellowMD???

and YES foams are an nyc thing. go to any court you’ll see someone wearing 2000yr Foams still.

Another thing I want to point out. MD/DC may have been using Nike boots on the functional tip (what they were made for, and probably because they were just NIKE and happend to be boots) but NYC is responsible for A LOT of trends because we make everything Fashionable… I say thats a fair conclusion. I personally never saw or heard any one on any WDYWTD forum or in the street saying.. ” i wear ACG’s cuz im fly” before Harlem made it a stamp similar to Construction Timbs. Wearing it with items for fashion.

There are a bunch of conventional shoes that were worn by many, but made “fashionable” by NYC.

  31. SHUT UP! ^^^^

  32. Comment by MelloYelloMD December 4th, 2008 at 11:08 am

    ^LOL@Boogie
“TSG in ya face and that’s all you can come up with?”…Nelly? Good lyrics?Aight good brutha you got it. You letting “What did you wear today?” forums dictate fashion? Go outside…btw you lost with the Posite comment, if you leave NYC…you can go anywhere in any state ask someone about Foams/Flights and they are gonna say “Oh that’s that DC isht with those glitter shirts and what not”…and that was long before Miskeen

  33. If you noticed my statement clearly said “WDYWTD or the street”.. so you’re retort is invalid. Miskeen didnt do glitter shirts LOL. This debate isnt going anywhere but this is what i want to see more of on TSG. People discussing a topic instead of everyone just agreeing “yeah this is HOT”
Groc you know im an opinionate dude and my opinions always go against the crowd! LOL
“NY makes it, everybody takes it!”

  34. spits slow like hes drunk, not impressed. And that supreme hat makes him look like a wangsta.

  35. I dont know who started it but I know I remember when I worked at Finishline in Fairfax VA some cats from Bmore came all the way down there lookin for a couple pair cuz they were sold out in MD and DC. We were sold out in all black and only had all white and all tan, he bought 2 pair of the all white, and 1 pair of the tan cuz he never seen those colors before it ran him about 500 bucks he was sysed shit I was too! my boss was like you sold over 500 worth stuff + the waterproofer+cleaner. Also one of my friends is from The District(DC) and he was wearing them in 2000 cuz hes a big and tall dude and goadomes got mad cushion. I like em, but im getting the goarounds, they look better and are cheaper right now 1.

  36. Comment by SOLE Sovereign January 1st, 2009 at 11:11 pm

Okay, this whole D.M.V. / New York debate needs to end. Who gives a rat’s ass about who wore ‘em first? The point here is it’s Wale who made the song and he’s the one getting credit, not Stack Bundles even if he was wearing ‘em first. And to all the Wale fans, dude’s a hypebeast. You guys have to know that. Also ease up off Ray. The man is just stating his opinion. There’s no way to prove who wore ‘em first without a time machine anyway.

In my opinion, wearing boots casually is pretty stupid in itself but whatever.

  37. DMV!! stand up It Aint A Shoe Song Its a Crew Song
