Wale x Nike Copper Foamposite
Wale does it again! You can always count on Mr. Folarin to break out a fresh pair of Nike samples. Being from Foamposite land, it was only right for Wale to rock the Copper Foamposites a few months early. He did the same thing with the Eggplant Foamposites, remember The Artistic Integrity video? Anyhow, here we a first look thanks to Wale and EliteDC. Wale was spotted rocking the Foamposites at Jay-Z Blueprint 3 tour in Baltimore last night. You know he had to shine in his area, and these Copper Foams are definitely shining.
Last we heard, the Copper Foams are dropping February 2010.

It would be hard to argue NYC has been and still is, albeit not like years prior, a fashion trendsetter. Truth be told I would go visit family in CT and NY and they just couldn’t understand why I was rockin Goadomes and New Balance 992′s. Those along with the Foams are unequivocally DC or DMV(DC-PG County-Northern VA) I gotz luv for my cousins and uncles up north but in my eyes they dressin like str8 bammaz(not quite like down south tho) We got luv tho for NY, Philly etc but u gotta understand DC is like an island…we tend to do us and not what other folks are doing across da country. Got our own music, own, slang, own style. Only now thanks to Wale and a few other DC representaz are people across the country starting to see it…but please don’t try to copy cus unless you from da DC Metro area you aint gonna get it right.

DC has such an inferiority complex to NYC that they have to try to claim they started certain trends (i.e. foams and Nike Boots). I’m not hating in any way. DC is a fly city, in its own way. Philly is fly, in its own way. But no city in the entire world can compare to New York. Yes, Foams are the uniform in DC and Baltimore. But in New York, cats will wear whatever the fuck they want. Thats what makes New York better than DC and all the other cities. There is much greater diversity in swag and the types of clothes people wear. In any given day, you won’t see too many niggas dressed EXACTLY the same in NYC. Everybody has their own individual style up north and I have heard many DC dudes admit this shit before. A day in NY, you might see one dude rocking the foams. In DC or Baltimore, you’ll see 10 pairs on the street before the day is over.
I live in Maryland and the copper foams didn’t even hit the shelves out here because they sold out so fast. But I took a trip up to Philly a week after they came out and copped a pair on South Street. Those coppers were collecting dust on the shelf up in Philly. It seemed like nobody really cared about the Foams in Philly. My man that lives up there said only sneaker collectors, hypebeasts and niggas that play ball are the only ones who buy foams in Philly. In DC and Maryland, everyone will be on your dick if you’re wearing a fresh pair of foams in a hot colorway like the coppers, eggplants or royal blues.
