Varsity Red or Infrared? Once again, 4DRUMZ speaks on a nice topic.
I like the idea of both CW’s dropping! WHAT did he just say? Yup! I think we’re just dumb enough to buy both… and JB knows it! The “pack” would satisfy the collecting need of much of the sneaker community while the varsity-red release would be available to the masses (especially those of us on a budget) and give the sappy sentimental folks something to wear while they get busy taking pictures of their family and friends with their InfraORANGEPINKNOTQUITERED pack.

Great points taken in the blog section. DMP pack for collectors, and varsity red for those on a budget, but still get there fix of owning a pair of VI’s. I’ll have the DMP’s!

To me it’s more than this, the infrared really makes the shoe, idc what anyone says. Pack is ALL MINE!! Even though, I am wearing the varsity red joints right NOW.

INFRARED ALL DAY. after that point made j.b is stupid enough to drop them on the same day. Keep it up 4Drumz and you will made it on ROYAL SWAGNESS Top 20 comment writers’ of the year. list dropping on christmas day and new years eve.
I’m not one to try to start hype, but I honestly could see JB dropping the Package… & making it a “Limited Release”. They did it with the Strap 1′s & months later they dropped the BRed 1′s in the DMP. JB is about money & when people think that their closest chances of getting the Infrareds are by getting the Varsity Reds they’ll do it & JB will go right ahead & drop the Infrared pack on them like dummies… Smh

Coppin both. Ima rock the white and reds all summer. those are fresh. but the infrared ima chill on those until next year. I love the fact both are coming out and whoever likes whatever can buy what they want.

The thing about the infrareds is the fact that you have to look at the context of when the shoe came out… it was the nineties.. both the siilouette of the vi’s and the infrared color just SCREAM nineties… yes the infrareds are an “off” color, but that was the whole point of it all… Mj was rocking them even though he KNEW they didn’t go exactly with the bull’s uniforms. Thats what made it hot. now I am by no means bashing the varsity jaints (I copped the varsity/black boys, and if this mystic infrared pack does not come out, will probably cop the white/varsitys as well), but the fact of the matter is that for me, the shoe just isnt the same w/o infrared. I had these as a kid, and the bright, strange, off, kooky infrared is what makes me remember them, and the 90s in general, so fondly.
And by the way, anyone who says that infrared is ugly or that there is no difference between varsity/infra has probably never seen a pair of wht/infrared vi’s in the flesh… pics don’t do them justice
Great post 4Drumz always good insight homie. I will have both for the record. I have the infrareds and varsity’s in the closet. I need the white pair of both to make the cypher complete. Honestly it doesn’t matter to me cause they both have there place. Now bring on the white/maroon and white/blue if you dare JB. If you really want to kill the game drop the Bordaux’s and the old school 6 and 7 warm up suits from back in the day! They went hard!

Personally I dont care what kind of red it is. A lot of people hate on the varsity reds for some reason. I think the varsity vi’s are on point. The black and varsity reds suede is buttery soft. Personally I like the varsity better because the shoe is much darker. My infrared’s seem kinda gray compared to the varsity reds.
But if they are bringin them both out…best believe I will cop both of them!lol
First of all, I’m copping the White/Varsity Red IVs. I already copped the Black/Varsity reds so there’s no point in copping the pack. To be completely honest, both varsity red colorways look better than the infrared colorways in my opinion. The infrared colorways are CRIMINALLY overrated. You just knew the hypebeasts were gonna show up when they rumor was confirmed.
Jordan Brand has some nerve releasing this pack. We know that they are marketing geniuses and they have a way of appealing to us but it gets to a point where they’re just trying to make money. If they do actually release this pack, it’s not because they want to see “us” happy. They want to see us spend the money and they know we’ll do it. They’re alienating us by doing this and almost forcing us their products on us. But I’m not going to be baited into it…not this time. I don’t usually rip into JB like this because I buy most retros that release and I will continue to. But the release of this pack seems unloyal. I’m glad I never hold grudges.
both are buyable, but if the infra(ican’tbelieveit’snotred)’s don’t come lout id be satisfied with the varsity’s(not quite elmo,ketchup no mustard)6′s…this is a closer gap than that between the bred’s and binfrared’s…
I’m going to pass on the pack. I copped the varsity red/black 6′s the day they dropped thinkin places would sell out. (I was wrong!) I’m not mad tho..lol.. I still got my black/infrareds from 2000 but do not wear them often. The color on the 2010 is dope to me. I like the darker red cus I have more to go with them. But in comparison.. How many black/red or white/red kix do you really need? Personally I prefer to get the less common colorways of kix now-a-days. Mocha 3′s, Green Bean 5′s, Flint 13′s, Sonics 6 Rings etc…these J’s stand out more to me. They make my collection colorful. I don’t like blending in with the rest. Be different. Get what u want..

Someone mentioned before, of course bring back bordeaux!! And bring back the white/navy VI, I would absolutely be amazed. The blue/white VI is a more mature colorway. I saw Jerry Seinfeld the other night rocking them!
I say Varsity red, people need to be happy there not some stupid color thats not related to the Chicago Bulls Colorway. If the Infrareds drop I’ll cop cause I love puttin fresh J’s in my closet!!!!!!
I”m not too hung up on this bs… If the shoe isn’t shaped right, who cares. The only infrared shoe I’m dying to own is the sweatshirt/infrared 1′s they realeased GS last year.
Man i remember when i was a frosh in college back in 2005 i loved wearing 1 model of jays for a whole week. didn’t have many 6′s but i still wanna build my collection up
Nuthin against anyone who likes it but the infared color in general is wack to me it looks like a faded red more then anything so I would easily pass on the pack if it came out and will def copp the varsity reds! Also copped them oreo 6s and Carter u are 1000% right the oreos are sick and on point don’t pass this shoe up you will probly regret it
They both clean. The varsity reds are just a whole different shoe. Just a new different colorway. I’ll rock both.
I agree, infared is overrated x a millie. It’s aight but i like the varisty better to be honest. That being said i will cop the white and varsity

BUt i am still confused. Is the infared pack really dropping because some people are saying they are and some say there is no infared pack (like BRINX).

i agre wit edizzle up top. but uh i honestly think varsity red looks better but the infrared stands out more n it jus gives off a unexplainable vibe. kinda like a neon type look that jus POPS at u u kno…hard to expalin. did the best i could. but i wld rathewr have white/infra instead of black/infra. black infra dont do it for me
