Wish x TheShoeGame – Jordan Brand Event with Jason Mayden Recap
Thank you to everyone that attended “A Night With Jordan Brand featuring Jason Mayden” last night in Atlanta, GA. The event was brought to you by Wish and TheShoeGame.com, and it was a pleasant evening if I must say so myself. Jason Mayden was on hand sharing insight about working for Jordan Brand, as well as giving advice on how dedicated and passionate one must be to work in the footwear industry. Jay May also allowed attendees to ask questions about Brand Jordan, and as you can imagine, there was plenty of questions asked about fusions, the Infrared Pack, the disappearance of Nike Air, why clear outsoles yellow so quickly, and many more questions. The night would not be complete without Jason Mayden and Atlanta Jordan Sales Rep Ken Johnson giving the hungry crowd a preview at Holiday 2010 Jordan footwear. Not only did they show the attendees the footwear, but they also gave them a chance to say why they did or didn’t like the product.
DJ Greg Street provided the tunes, and Joerdan23 blessed everyone with some serious Air Jordan sample eye candy. Joe traveled from Nashville, TN to show ATL Jordan heads his collection, and it was worth the trip because Joe was the lucky winner of the Air Jordan sample raffle. Seriously, Joe won the 1 of 1 Air Jordan samples that was designed by Jason Mayden. Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Haiti relief fund. Super producer 9th Wonder was also in the building, and 2010 XXL Freshmen and Atlanta’s own, Donnis stopped by to show his support. John Scipio, Regional Sales Director from the Atlanta Nike office graced the event with his presence, and shouts to Bert Geyer of Nice Kicks for attending the event.
Overall, the event was a huge success. Special thanks to Jason Mayden for showing Atlanta love, and thanks once again to everyone that attended the event. Without further ado, hit the jump to view tons of photos from the event.

Shout Out Greg Street & All The Jordan Lovers That came out It was so Much Jordan Heat in there My Face was Warm… Damn Thought I was Doin it With My Infrared’s until I saw them Infrared Samples The OG’s Greg Brought Thru and TC Killing them with those Premier 23′s Black & Red People Rock Ya Kicks That’s what is about AJKO’s Tommarrow Yep!! Now Nike Store or Wish Kim Holla at Me!!
5th row down, picture on the left, the sneaker in the middle of the bottom of that picture….only seen that OLD Jordan ????? in a few magazines over here….RARE AS HELL….maybe on par with the Python and KO in terms of rarity. Cool to see a pair in that condition. I woulda wore Crocs to this event.
^^ Since Jason & them Guys work for Jordan Brand I believe They have a Gag Order to prevent them from Speaking on The “Infrared” Pack which to me they could of just shot those Rumor’s down but they Danced around the ?’s so to me I think that “PACK” is Releasing Sometime this Year (Crossing Fingers)…

Had to go to my car and when I came back I couldn’t even get through the front.
Hopefully at sneakerfriends u could have VIP for the tsg fam or something cause I couldn’t even chill wit y’all yesterday cause of the crowd. I even brought some of my art work that night but I couldn’t get through. Maybe I might get another chance. Overall a great night for TSG.

People were askin bout when and what retros were comin out and from what I remember Jason and Ken couldn’t say what and when was coming out.. They did show the Flint 13′s for a sec and put it right back in their bag as well as a pair of retro 2′s.. I didn’t get a good look at them since he flashes it and put it back in his bag… Guess we all just have to wait.. But this was a good look for Atl.. Can’t wait till May 1st. Sneaker Friends 2010…
Even though I’m not a Jordan lover (yeah I said it!) and didn’t make it to this event…it definitely looked like the place to be on Thursday. Seems like everything turned out great, but then again could you really expect anything less? Big ups to TSG for keeping the sneaker culture live in Atlanta…can’t wait for the next event!

I had a good time and it was cool to kick it with 9th wonder since I’m from North Carolina too. Im mad they couldn’t answer any “important” questions,lol. Guess we just gatta wait to see what happens with the infrared pack.
@TokyoMike, you’re talkin about the Sky High White/Grey/Red Colorway. Those are super rare, first shoe to ever have a jumpman logo if i’m correct. That’s the shoe they tested out the durability of the Jumpman logo on.
Also if memory serves me right, the Sky High were or are suppose to be Retro’d this year.

@Brandan E. – 9th was hella cool. He did his DJ thing for a while, but he was mainly enjoying the event.

aye, it was straight . . . my friend and i was kinda bugged out by the fact that everyone was booing everything to the point that we couldn’t hear the explanation of the concepts of the shoes. he and i both understand what J. Mayden was talking about with the entry level jordans. everyone doesn’t know the jordans like that but they do know a jordan product (hopefully a real one. what was so hard about understanding that a lot of those sneakers weren’t catered to sneakerheads? i don’t know [smh]. what was up with people going crazy over the flint 13s and those 1s? all people wanted to see was retros. jb has to do more than retros but sneakerheads can’t fathom that . . . maybe the ‘head’ part should be dropped from the expression. – those 2s though were straight fresh, next best after ogs. i’m sure there was more heat to show (e.g. cool greys) but it wasn’t do to the disrespectful reactions from the crowd.

@ dmy I hear U and all due respect, but for us who were blessed to witness MJ’s legacy on the court , who really know the true science of these shoes and saw the how JB has evolved over the years they are really losing touch with real collectors! We want the shoes that Jordan played in and that’s it PERIOD! Now I comend J. Mayden for being on the front line and gettin crucified for the lack luster JB proudcts, but untill they relalize they need to focus more on the OG’s which which is the blueprint, they will continue to ruin tradition! We wear Jordans because Mike did! In the begining we wern’t even wearing Jordans to hoop in. It was the only way to fell like the BEST! If Mike wore them you wanted to try and relate to the epic stage of his life and what better way than to “walk in his shoes”. Let’s not mis lead the youth into thinkin they up on it cause they got ah pair of (Jupmans) “Jordans”? We need to school them on the true reason of why the’re even asking for some Jordans. We understand they are a huge global Corpration that has to make money to function, but know your target market! Not but 3 of those 15 samples will even be sold at Wish and

Overall it WAS a good event though! Geting to chop it up with J. Mayden about getin in with JB made it a sucessful mission for Sneaker Boy! So once again BIG shout to G-Roc and the TSG team for putin on for the city once again!

Big shouts to the whole #TSGFAM, those that came out and those who check in on the regular. G-Roc helped put together an amazing event for the Atl/SE sneaker community. I have to agree with dmy, cats were crazy disrespectful when Jason and Ken were trying to talk. I guess it depends on your reasons for coming out. Some people just came to get a possible glimpse at some heat before everyone else saw it, some came to voice their opinions, some to hear the stories and meet some influential folks in the game, and others like myself and the Sneakerboy(s) came to get their network on. Very cool event, packed the house. 9th was representin (Laws’ Shining produced by 9th is like my favorite track art the moment and I was just bumping the Murs/9th Sweet Lord today). G-Roc where are the pics of ole boy Cyrus from MTV coming thru lol. It was good to put some faces to screennames and hopefully this is only the beginning of many more things to come.
