XX8 Days of Flight: Air Jordan X

The tenth day of the XX8 Days of Flight has arrived, as Jordan Brand highlights the historic Air Jordan X model.

THE PHYLON MIDSOLE REDUCED WEIGHT WITHOUT SACRIFICING FOOT SUPPORT. TO COMMERORATE MJ’S ACHIEVEMENTS, THE OUTSOLE DESIGN FEATURED A LATERAL STRIPE FOR EACH OF HIS TEN EARLY CAREER MILESTONES.

What has always interested me about this sneaker is the simple silhouette it takes while still finding a way to cram in multiple features. The lacing system, side paneling, use of layering on the upper, and of course the outsole, all add minor details to what is seen as one of the most “plain” Jordans from the numbered line. I actually find the simplistic (yet detailed) design to be perfect for the landmark Air Jordan X because it shows that Jordan Brand didn’t need to go over the top to bring together a classic sneaker.

Being born in Seattle, makes me wonder if we’ll ever see the Air Jordan X in the Seattle Supersonics inspired colorway sometime in the future. Hopefully if Seattle gets a team back, we’ll see it happen.

What is your favorite Air Jordan X colorway.

Jordan Brand is celebrating XX8 Days Of Flight and today is all about the Air Jordan X. Tag your photos on Instagram with #XX8DaysOfFlight and you might see yourself on ajxx8.com.

I figured they would at least do black & volt stripes on the bottom, that would’ve murked this one. SMH, JB takes another swing & miss
