Store Owner Shares Inspiring "Hardknocks to Sneaker Shops" Story Everyone Should Read
While the mainstream media is trying to figure out what makes sneakerheads tick, those of us who are really in this culture know that it's bigger than sneakers. These sneakers are symbolic of moments in our lives that help us cope with difficult things, inspire us to be more, or simply make us feel better.
With the 2015 retro of the "Bordeaux" Air Jordan 7 approaching this Saturday, Suraj Koufman, owner of Sneaker Room, shared a really inspiring story on why this Air Jordan model means so much to him. Read Below:
In '92, I asked my mother for these kicks... she said "how much?" I told her and she said, "our rent is $110 you do the math." I didnt get them. 23 years later they are tatted on my leg and releasing this Saturday at both of my stores #blessed. Rest In Paradise Mom
Here at TSG we appreciate Suraj for sharing this moment on Instagram because we all came a long way from humble beginnings and this story serves as a reminder of the blessings we are taking advantage of in the sneaker world today. Salute to Suraj Koufman and his success story. Hardknocks to sneaker shops, baby!
