Nike Is Bringing Back the Easter Air Force 1 Low
I love a good surprise. Nike used to catch us off guard all the time back in the day.
One of my most memorable “off guard” releases was the 2005 Easter Egg Air Force 1 QS. It was the true definition of Quickstrike. The shoe literally dropped out of the blue.
No NikeTalk or ISS leaks, and sneaker blogs weren’t in the conversation yet.
Fast forward to 2017, and Nike is brining back what I would like to call a game changing AF1. If you recall, BAPE was riding the wave of the AF1’s likeness when these dropped. BAPE’s signature was patent leather covered Bapestas – a model that clearly ripped the design of the Air Force 1.
This shoe definitely served as a clap back to BAPE in 2005. Nike simply sent a message to everyone with this original release that basically said, “Get off our nutz, BAPE.”
Maybe you disagree, but it was indeed a clap back.
According to retailers, this shoe releases on April 17 – a day after Easter. Nike, you dropped the ball on the release date, these should have dropped today, Good Friday… or tomorrow.
Are you adding a pair to your collection? Or do you already own the OG?
