Serena & Virgil Abloh Talk Queen Collection, Kanye and Off White

CNBC caught up with busy bodies Serena Williams and Virgil Abloh to talk about the Nike Queen collection. Serena confirmed the idea wasn't hers but that Nike approached her about working with Virgil.

The Queen collection is a collaboration between Serena, Nike, and Virgil's Off White label. It's obvious that Virgil has the juice right now with his own brand, head of Louis Vuitton menswear, and traveling DJ.

That said, the interviewer not only asked questions about the Queen collection, but she also asked Virgil about the future of Off White x Nike as well as if he will ever collaborate with Kanye even though he's partnered with Nike's direct competition.

Virgil's response on working with Kanye while he's at adidas: "I think competitors are for the courts just behind us. Us as designers, were all designing the world at one time. In the design space its about the best creativity. Kanye and I have been best friends and will be best friends until the end of time. Creatives just create."

I mean, what did she expect him to say? "Yes, actually Kanye and I are working on the first ever Nike and adidas collaboration - we are kicking down the door and bridging the gap between two sportswear giants." That's sounds good, but in reality any collaboration that happens between Ye and Virgil will be outside of Nike and adidas.

I'm not mad at her for asking, I totally get it.
