The Air Jordan 1 Banned commemorates the moment on October 18th, 1985 where the black and red sneaker was not allowed to be worn on court by the NBA.
After the league banned the shoes, Nike would go on to pay each $5,000 fine issued to Michael Jordan for wearing the sneakers. This would eventually lead to one of the best marketing decisions in the brand's history.
