Charlamagne Calls Out Troy Ave For Wearing Nikes With adidas
Troy Ave recently joined Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club to clear up the situation about selling under 4,500 copies of his new album in its debut week. After explaining why his album sales were so low, Charlamagne the God decided to press Troy for wearing Nikes with adidas clothing. Many consider crossing those two major brands as a sin.
Why was this question important? Troy Ave is one of the OG adidas sponsored rappers, so his answer was extremely surprising given his long time partnership. Here's how the conversation went:
Char:You commitin' a very dangerous crime right now. You're wearing adidas with Nikes on right now.
Troy Ave: There's certain sneakers you can wear... you can put the camera on these. These ain't regular sneakers. These are the high top Air Force 1's, they're a little more money than the low top. Or with certain Jordan Brands you can do this. I'm one of the flyest ones moving.
You can wear adidas with high top Air Force 1's with the strap or Jordans and stuff like that, but you can't just be wearing no Nikes with a regular Nike check. You can't wear Air Max with adidas.
No disrespect toward Troy Ave, but did you understand anything he said? I personally didn't. Honestly, crossing brands such as adidas and Nike isn't such a big deal as some make it out to be.
Although Troy Ave was keeping it real, there's no reason he should have gone into detail about what Nikes you can and can't wear with adidas out of respect to his endorsors. As far as I'm concerned, he should have asked Charlamagne why is he snitching? Lol.
Troy Ave really didn't help me understand why people purposely wear Nikes with blatant adidas branded clothing, so I'm hoping one of you don't mind explaining your reasons in the comments section below.
Do you agree with Troy Ave, are there some Nikes you can wear with adidas and some you can't?
