A really good question.
Celebs 100% help with trends/hype and drive business for brands. However, to the question of do they help or hurt sneaker culture? That's a complex question.
I'd say they help brands and I wouldn't say hurt sneaker culture but def puts certain things on a much bigger stage causing a shoe to become more popular which can mean it's harder to get.
Virgil posted a photo of himself wearing the Terra Humara. I said "Nooooooooo" when I saw the pic because I'm pretty sure I know what that means smh
I enjoy having low key classics or shoes that are deemed "cool" to people who only follow trends/hype. I don't like that part of the game but I get it. Ish made me feel a way when I saw the photo last night
Yeah without them the shoe game wouldn’t be as well rounded as it is today for sure, but like you said all it takes is for them to wear a shoe no one is checking for and it’s over with.
😂 hypebeast coming for your kicks G.
I agree with you as far as celebs driving business for brands, however it hurts the culture. Celebs basically help over saturate the sneaker market. They're the ones who wake up the what we call em now, hype beasts. That is what has made it harder for us to find shoes. I mean if it wasn't for Kanye, the culture wouldn't be where it is now if he wasn't purposely rocking J's back in the day.
