Dwyane Wade Signs Lifetime Deal With Li-Ning, Unveils Way of Wade 7
Remember when the Chicago native was signed to Converse? Wade later left Converse and joined Team Jordan which was a perfect look, and he was even crowned face of Jordan Brand by Michael Jordan.
During his time with Jordan Brand two signature Wade shoes were created, the Fly Wade 1 and Fly Wade 2. Both were underwhelming which is typical for most Jordan signature shoes. Am I lying?
Wade decided it was time to leave Jordan Brand and shocked the world when it was announced he joined Li-Ning. To date it's still weird knowing someone left Jordan Brand for Li-Ning.
However, Li-Ning offered him something Jordan Brand didn't: ownership. Wade didn't just sign an endorsement deal with Li-Ning, he signed a true partnership deal giving him ownership and his own brand under Li-Ning.
The year is 2018 and Wade announced his lifetime Li-Ning deal during the unveiling of the Way of Wade 7 in Beijing. Should any of us be surprised by this news? I think if Wade was going to leave he would've done so by now.
As for the Way of Wade line, it's been interesting watching the evolution of his line. I'm sure we all remember when people were going crazy over the early Li-Ning Wade models. It was a true movement and pairs were hard to obtain which made the demand even crazier.
Time flies because I can't believe the WoW 7 made its debut already. Li-Ning didn't release any launch info, but expect DWade's latest signature shoe to drop this year.
Were you ever a fan of Wade's Li-Ning line? How do you feel about the WoW 7?
