JD Sports Looking to Open Locations In US

JD Sports is coming to America?

If the JD Sports deal to acquire FinishLine goes through as planned, the UK retailer plans to roll out its flagship banner in the states. However cautious, the company plans to change 30 FinishLine stores to the JD Sports banner.

For those out of the loop, news broke March 26th that Finishline would be acquired by JD Sports.
The acquisition of Finishline provided a “significant opportunity for JD to expand its presence on a global basis,” said Peter Cowgill (executive chairman of JD Sports).

As of March 3rd, JD Sports operated 1,300 stores in the UK and Europe. While Finishline operated 944 stores in the US, with 566 being stand-alone and 378 shops inside Macy’s.

If approved the acquisition would be for $588 million.

Will we finally get out our hands on JD Sports or Euro exclusives?
