2016 marks the 20th anniversary of the historic movie Space Jam which features Michael Jordan and one of the most coveted sneakers of all time, the "Space Jam" Air Jordan 11. MJ is far too old to star in a sequel to the legendary movie, so who else could come close to fitting in his shoes?

UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter confirms Space Jam 2 is a go and LeBron James will be starring in the film. Director Justin Lin (of Fast & Furious) has been given the responsibilities to make this sequel come to fruition. The script is being written as we speak and an official release date has yet to be revealed.

Brian Windhorst of ESPN broke news that Warner Bros and LeBron James have inked a deal which includes movies, TV, and other digital content projects. If you remember back in 2014 when rumor spread of LeBron starring in Space Jam 2, Windhorst was the source to deny those allegations.

But now with a deal set in place, the possibility of King James taking the leading role in Space Jam 2 is a very real possibility. Especially since Warner Bros. filed new trademarks for Space Jam last month. Stick with TSG for more updates regarding LeBron James, Warner Bros, and the chances of a Space Jam 2 movie.

“LeBron James has one of the most powerful, well-known brands in the world and we are excited to be in business with him and his partner, Maverick Carter, and SpringHill Entertainment,” Warner Bros. CEO and Chairman Kevin Tsujihara said. “The combination of LeBron’s global media presence and Warner Bros.’ unmatched production and distribution expertise is a big win for fans everywhere.”
