Sentimental or monetary - let's talk about it.

What's the Most Valuable Sneaker In Your Collection?

Good discussion topic, right?

I wish I could take credit for today's topic, but all praise to DJR aka DAMRUFF for shooting me this idea yesterday. I'm known to procrastinate so I wanted to make it a point to publish this today.

Not to mention it's been a minute since the last good discussion post. Everyone's meaning of value may differ on this topic so don't trip, just share your story.

On one hand, your most valuable sneaker could be something given to you by a close family member or friend. I've heard several stories about why a certain shoe means so much to someone.

For example, a young lady lost her fiancé to cancer and his favorite shoe is now her favorite because it reminds her of him. I'll also give a personal example. My dad bought me a pair of Tiffany Dunks back in 2005.

Although I have two pairs, the pair he bought me has a lot of sentimental value to me because that's the first shoe I can recall him buying for me. I always said I'm going to unDS that pair at my wedding reception. We shall see.

On the flip side, maybe you have an extremely rare, unreleased sample or autographed pair that means more to you than any other pair in your beloved collection. Maybe it's your holy grail that you were finally able to find/cop.

So, let's discuss. Share your most valuable sneaker and story in the comments.

Monetary wise it would be the Puma AMQ Scarred Mid Croc. Sentimental reasons it would be the Undefeated x Puma Clyde “Gametime” 24K Gold Edition as these were on feet the day my son was born

From a value perspective stock x and ebay says my Yeezy 1. but nostalgia says my green bean 5's and the red foams. the green bean 5 is the first Jordan my parents got me. so a very special thing. the red foams is the first raffle i won. boy i was lit.

Dope. Thanks for sharing. It's nice to see someone still has love for the Air Max Zero because I remember people going crazy over them and then it seem like people quickly stop caring.

I have a few which are valuable to me which are my air max zero & vapormax iD’s which were semi designed for me in mind & my royal blue hyperadapt 1.0’s & finally my Questos AF1’s sentimental value as the roots are my favorite group

Monetarily my most valuable sneaker is my Off-White 1s, but sentimentally its a toss up between my '02 Cool Grey 9s or my 2 pairs of Hare 1s. My father gave me his Cool Grey 9s before he passed away (When I say gave me, I mean I picked them up one day, walked by him, and he didnt say put them back.😂). It is the oldest shoe in my collection and the last shoe my father gave me. My Hare 1s are also valuable to me because my father bought me the first pair for my birthday and, after he passed away, my mom bought me the rerelease for a later birthday. Plus yall slept on those, the Bugs Bunny on the tongue is so 🔥 to me!

A sample pair of these dunkestos, gifted to me by an estranged family member. Soles separate sometimes.

It depends on how we define "valuable". Financially or to other ppl, maybe Asics Gel-Lyte III La MJC x Colette or New Balance x Solebox green finals. But emotionally to myself, it's gotta be the Air Force 1 Low Ladainian Tomlinson signed by LT himself. We waited in line for 3 hours in front of Blends SD, and then went to the Stadium to watch the Chargers beating fucking Patriots 31-3. One of the best days of my life.

This is a weird one cause I just dont buy into the "value" (meaning monetary) of sneakers....Its funny cause the average "sneakerhead" would NEVER pay the price they would SELL a pair of sneakers for...So the cat that would sell you Yeezy 1's for $3000 would never in a million years pay $3g's for a pair (unless thats what he paid and is trying to recoup).....I still live in the world so Im still aware of what things cost...and I guess with that being said my Pair SB's might be the rarest of my kicks....but in terms of VALUE...I have so many cause they all have a story...they all mean SOMETHING to me...and that drives the value....Space Jams I got married in....Tiff Dunks that me, my wife, and my kids all have and wear together as a unit....The 24 hours I stayed up hitting 6 stores in 3 different states to cop the DMP Pack (6 and 11 the OG..what a nightmare that was)...Flying to Japan to cop ATO's....just crazy storys and memories man....I have kicks I give away that mean ZERO...but the ones that have a story will be with me till the end...

Great topic by the way. According to StockX, my most valuable sneaker is the black and pink Yeezy 1s but to me my most valuable is definitely my black Supreme Blazer. It’s such a dope timeless sneaker. I love every detail on it. When I wear them even my wife likes them. I have other sneakers that are valuable to me too but I’ll stick with just those 2 for now.
