Kanye Announces YEEZY and Gap Partnership
If you recall, Kanye West used to work for Gap as teenager and once said he would like to be the Steve Jobs of Gap.
Fast forward to 2020 and Kanye announces a YEEZY x Gap partnership on Twitter. The collection is slated to release early 2021. Mowalola Ogunlesi has been hired by Kanye to be the design director over this project which isn't surprising because she's worked with the West family in the past.
As for what's to come from the collection, The New York Times states: the collection will offer "modern, elevated basics for men, women and kids at an accessible price point." It's also said the partnership is a 10-year deal.
Kanye has been talking about this for years in his attempt to make the world a better place via his products and vision. This is a prime example of speaking something into existence. Now the world waits to see how Kanye "Steve" Jobs innovates fashion and the retail experience.
Do you think YEEZY footwear will also be created to coincide with this partnership?
